About Us

Winnall Rock School – Making Music, Changing Lives.

Founded in 2004, we are a charity based at Unit 12 in Winchester for young people of all abilities to access exciting music-making experiences. We have a strong focus on supporting mental health and personal wellbeing.

Our main service is our regular free music workshops, support and challenges for 10-17 year olds from all backgrounds and abilities. We give places to anyone wanting to pursue their musical ambitions, although priority is given to those who find it difficult for financial, educational, social or emotional reasons to access commercial provision or need other support.

We also run short-term projects and welcome partnerships to support access to local cultural opportunities.

It has been a refuge and sanctuary, a working landscape and a recreational one, an inspiration for artists over centuries. We both seek to preserve the unique archaeological and historical legacies of past communities and support the creation of new responses to the landscape by contemporary artists, writer and makers.
