Grounded in lived experience, always free, and based within their neighbourhoods our work is place based and delivered through eight interconnected strands that ‘wrap around’ all parts of a young person’s life: Youth Voice & Influence, Youth in Community, Youth & Family, Youth Mentoring, Youth Health & Wellbeing, Youth Skills, Youth Futures, and Youth Hubs.

Y Services for Young People – (Voices For Pride Project)

A new National Lottery Heritage Fund project, that will explore, research, and co-create a more contemporary and representative narrative of Portsmouth’s (and surrounding areas) LGBTQ+ heritage. Led by Y Services, in partnership with Portsmouth City Archives and Hampshire Cultural Trust, the project will: • Train young people and volunteers in heritage research skills • Record oral histories • Document the history and growth of Portsmouth Pride • Deliver exhibitions, events, and community learning We believe this project offers an exciting opportunity for local organisations, community centres, groups, and local residents to get involved. I am a professional artist, dancer and workshop facilitator recognised for hand painted murals, creative workshops and theatrical collaborative performances. Delivering detailed paintings, innovative workshops, and explorative collaborations, my work caters to the immediate environment with the aims to elevate spaces, inspire individuals and encourage unity. Commissioned by different councils, shops and organisations to design and paint murals reflecting nature. Produce workshops that include art and movement practice. Collaborated with multiple groups and particularly enjoy performing with spoken word artists. Over 10 years in the arts, commissioned by Tameside Council, Wembley Park, Harrow Council and charities such as MyYard.

Mindful art became my refuge after life changing brain surgery.  Now I’m passionate about sharing these techniques with others, utilising my 24 years teaching background to help adults and children experience the same benefits in a relaxed and accessible way.  All my techniques are abstract, so the focus is on the benefits of the process rather than the outcomes eg zendoodles, mandalas, watercolours.  My clients love the calm environment of the workshops and the well being benefits they feel before and after.  I currently deliver workshops, retreats and motivational talks to private clients, NHS employees, WI groups and schools.

Come face to face with vicious warriors at our combat and archery demonstrations, or watch our skilled craftspeople recreate the beauty of the Anglo-Saxon age in comprehensive living history demonstrations as we bring the history of Hampshire to life.
