Lucy Ashton

I am a freelance commercial photographer covering Hampshire and beyond.  I have extensive experience photographing art, exhibitions, events and performances.  I work on location in galleries, museums and attractions photographing exhibitions and visitors enjoying their experiences.  I also have a studio where I work on a variety of projects including product photography, corporate portraiture and advertising. I also have experience photographing the work of charities and organisations who need compelling imagery to document their activities for fund raising or annual reports. I’m an artist based in Southampton, and I work freelance as a specialist in Artist Support, helping other creative people with their work. Drawing on my 20+ years experience as an animation director, creative business owner, university lecturer, and work with local and national arts organisations, I provide one-to-one advice and support with: finding opportunities and building networks planning a project or activity feedback on your work making an application for funding managing work-life balance I also run workshops, deliver training and host panel discussions events and crit groups, and I provide access support for funding applications. I am Cultural Heritage Strategy Lead for the South Downs National Park Authority, working to ensure the ongoing conservation, enhancement and understanding of the heritage of this protected landscape, through collaboration with archaeologists and artists, museums and environmental charities. I am a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and a, currently a member of the Arts Council England UK Museum Accreditation Committee and sit on the National Lottery Heritage Fund London & South Committee. My work with the National Park focuses on strategy, partnership and relationships, supporting organisations and networks with project development.
