Emma Scribbans

I am Cultural Heritage Strategy Lead for the South Downs National Park Authority, working to ensure the ongoing conservation, enhancement and understanding of the heritage of this protected landscape, through collaboration with archaeologists and artists, museums and environmental charities. I am a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and a, currently a member of the Arts Council England UK Museum Accreditation Committee and sit on the National Lottery Heritage Fund London & South Committee. My work with the National Park focuses on strategy, partnership and relationships, supporting organisations and networks with project development.

I am an actor, writer, director and workshop leader based in Salisbury. As an actor I have worked for over 20 years in theatre, touring nationally and also in the West End. I am currently developing a play called ‘Becoming Simone’ with Mayflower Studios, Forest Forge and Stage Door. In 2023 I wrote and produced a short film, ‘Living Loud’. This was selected for screening at Portsmouth Short Cuts Festival. I am also a Presentation and Communication coach, having worked across many sectors including finance, Ed Tech and charities. I have also designed and led training in communication using roleplay as a learning tool.

I am a writer and a visual artist. I am passionate about intersectional inclusion and my practice supports people to express their identities and experiences through creative writing and visual art. I believe that story-telling through words and images is a powerful tool for building and strengthening communities. My skills include workshop facilitation, and event and project planning and management. I focus on creating inclusive communities, whether for a one off workshop or a long term plan.
