About Us

Culture in Common is a community-led arts and culture programme for the New Forest, funded by Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places initiative. Led by a consortium including Energise Me, Folio, The Handy Trust, New Forest District Council, and the National Park Authority, it aims to increase cultural engagement in underserved areas. Since 2022, it has reached over 45,000 residents through workshops, exhibitions, and creative clubs, co-designed with local communities to reflect their interests and needs.

Our hub, for creativity, learning and cultural opportunities for the community and beyond, is based in Havant Town and home to a 145 seater studio theatre, museum collection, workshop spaces and art studio. We also have key focuses on Creative Wellbeing, Place-making, Children and Young People and Opening Up of the Creative Industries.

Wonderseekers is a children’s educational charity that uses science engagement to empower children to improve lives and protect and heal our planet. Its purpose is to raise children’s aspirations and confidence when it comes to big topics such as climate change, as well as promoting diversity and inclusion, so that all children have the ambition and freedom to improve their own lives, the lives of others and ultimately all life on Earth. Set up in 1986, and renamed as Wonderseekers in 2022, the Charity has always focused on delivering hands-on science experiences for young children. Through fun, immersive and accessible experiences in schools, communities, online and at its science and discovery centre in Winchester.
