Play to the Crowd is an Arts and Education Charity. We believe in a world where Communities are Delighted and United through live performance and participation. We put culture, learning, joy and community at the heart of all our work. We run both a beautiful heritage venue, Theatre Royal Winchester, and the internationally recognized Outdoor Arts Festival, Hat Fair. Winchester Print Fair is an annual event running in May. We support predominantly local artists (within Hampshire), joined by well-known printmakers from across the UK. We are looking to raise the profile of handmade creative arts and crafts, with all printmakers producing their prints by hand in their own studios or shared spaces. We also welcome suppliers and supporters of print to encourage those just starting their journey in print. We are now a two day event, with 25 stalls in the Nutshell in Kings Walk, Winchester.  

We believe in breaking the mould. We’re here to challenge the mass-produced, the impersonal, and the disposable by championing independent makers, fostering creativity, and creating a real, local alternative to online and high-street retail. Our mission is to provide crafters with a space to sell their work without the barriers of traditional retail while ensuring customers can discover authentic, locally made goods and explore their own creativity through hands-on workshops. We curate a space where people can shop with confidence, knowing they are supporting real artisans and small businesses. We empower people of all ages and backgrounds to explore their creative potential, and offer a relaxed pressure-free shopping experience.
