Tracy Dovey

Ian is an artist from Aldershot. He makes music and art with computers and lights.  He has worked internationally as a Professional Dog Photographe since 2013r.  He was arrested as a teenager for hacking an estate agent.  The BBC made a short documentary about him.  He used to write for Mute magazine.  He’s worked on many secret projects.  In 2002 his Spamradio project was nominated for a Webby Award.  Between 2002 and 2010 he taught free weekly hacking workshops in Limehouse & Shoreditch.  Born in Aldershot, he moved to London at 18 and moved back in 2022 to rescue a dog.

I’m an artist based in Southampton, and I work freelance as a specialist in Artist Support, helping other creative people with their work. Drawing on my 20+ years experience as an animation director, creative business owner, university lecturer, and work with local and national arts organisations, I provide one-to-one advice and support with: finding opportunities and building networks planning a project or activity feedback on your work making an application for funding managing work-life balance I also run workshops, deliver training and host panel discussions events and crit groups, and I provide access support for funding applications. I’m an artist and creative producer with a wealth of experience of founding arts ventures and running arts venues, programmes, events, exhibitions and festivals – with a focus on fun and innovative approaches to animating underused spaces. Most recently I’ve had the privilege of setting up Saint John’s Arts’ Programme, collaborating with a large Education Trust to provide new exciting opportunities for young people to get involved in the arts in Gosport. I’ve also worked as Producer for Journeys Festival International, and held previous roles at ArtSpace Portsmouth, Liverpool Biennial and founded The Royal Standard (gallery, studios and social workspace), and Mighty Oak Creative Agency.
