We are a Community Interest Company producing creative wellbeing projects for young people, because we know that life can get messy. This includes one-off projects, ongoing collaborations and commissions with arts, youth and health partners, mentoring for over 16s, and weekly dance and sensory play classes for under 5s and their grown-ups. We raise funds to deliver specialist projects which support young people living with adverse childhood experiences, and to reduce social isolation for Parents/Carers supporting vulnerable young people. We work collaboratively with other sectors so that work can continue to support young people through the arts after our projects have finished. We work across Dorset and Hampshire. With 26 years of experience, it is the longest-running Hip-Hop dance specialist in the Solent region. Funk Format made history by launching Hampshire’s first-ever Hip-Hop dance festival and bringing original pioneers from New York to communities across the South Coast. Its innovative projects, inspiring sessions, and performances spark creativity, confidence, and self-belief through the power of dance.
