About Me

I help people discover the wellbeing benefits of creativity through mindful art workshops.  The focus is on the exploring techniques that calm the mind, everything is abstract so there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’.  Sessions are suitable for beginners and those with experience.

I encourage clients to leave perfectionism behind and simply enjoy the process of playing with watercolours, doodles and mandalas – although people love their finished pieces too!

I discovered mindful art whilst in recovery from brain surgery, I passionately believe it helped me with mood, overwhelm, self-esteem, resilience and focus.  Mind Unwind combines my background of 25 years in education as a teacher and education adviser with my own lived experience.

I have 30 plus years experience developing, designing and making hands-on, interactive and educational exhibits for Museums and Science Centres. I now have my own business offering consultancy in the field and designing and producing exhibits. My experience includes, concept design, exhibit development and prototyping, evaluation and feasibility assessment, production and install. It is a wonderfully interesting and enjoyable mission. I have also developed an interactive donation box for museums and science centres that amuses and informs the visitors as they make their generous donations.

I am a musician, songwriter and creative practitioner inspired by the landscapes, folklore and communities of the New Forest and the surrounding counties of Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire. My practice centres on bringing people together through music. Current projects include hosting regular ‘From Story to Song’ workshops exploring local folklore and songs, facilitating ‘Songwriters’ Circles’ and workshops at Coda Music & Arts Trust, and directing The Chicken Soup community choir and ‘Drop In and Sing’ sessions across BCP, Dorset and Hampshire. I also work in creative development with children and young adults, supporting confidence, creativity and self-expression through songwriting and music-making.
