Job Description

Culture Connects, as part of our ongoing work in Rushmoor Borough to connect local artists with spaces, invites proposals for a small-scale creative activation of public space to feature during Rushmoor’s Heritage Festival. The ‘installation’ will be themed alongside the festival, which runs from 12 to 21 September 2025, and can be presented at any point during the festival. Artists are invited to “animate” an element of Aldershot and/or Farnborough’s heritage- engaging the public through creativity and interactio

What is the salary?

A total fee of up to £2,000 inclusive is available. This should cover all associated costs, including: • Artist fees (any artform) • Travel and expenses • Research and development • Materials and production • Marketing • Professional consultation, if needed • Event and venue costs • Technical costs • If you require budget for personal access costs, please include this in your application as an addition to the £2000 commission.

Kate Shrewsday is Rushmoor’s Cultural Development Manager for  Culture Connects, the cultural development body supporting people and organisations working in culture, heritage and the creative industries across Hampshire. We exist to help artists, creatives, makers and cultural leaders connect, collaborate and bring ideas to life. We also act as a strategic partner for the cultural sector, advocating for its value and representing its voice to political leaders, funders and decision makers so culture and creativity remain central to our region’s future.
