Cultural heritage

Gosport is home to numerous heritage venues, including the Explosion Museum, Hovercraft Museum and Diving Museum.

This diverse collection of cultural spaces, alongside grassroots heritage organisations such as Gosport Heritage Open Days, actively creates events and experiences within the community and showcases the heritage of Gosport.

Arts

Gosport boasts a thriving community of visual artists and has a growing, vibrant live music scene, with venues such as St John’s Arts and Quay West Studios, hosting regular gigs, annual events and festivals throughout the cultural calendar.

Hampshire Cultural Trust venue Gosport Museum and Art Gallery is one of several Arts Council National Portfolio Organisations in Gosport. Other local NPOs delivering work in the borough include Crying Out Loud and Artswork. Find out more on our partners below.

Working with us

Through Culture Connects, we work to support local individuals, organisations, businesses and community groups.

We support those who are already delivering or have an ambition to deliver cultural provision across the borough.

In 2022, Gosport Borough Council and Arts Council England co-funded the development of a 

Cultural Strategy for the borough.
